Though she faced the heartbreak of losing her first child at birth, God’s promise remained steadfast. When she conceived again, the family’s joy knew no bounds as Prophet Israel Joshua Chukwubueze was born. Named Ekenedilichukwu (meaning "Thank God" in Igbo), which was affectionately shortened to Ekene, his birth brought immense joy and gratitude to his family.

From a young age, it was evident that Ekene was no ordinary child. He grew up with dreadlocks, a symbol often associated with prophets and divine calling. Though his dreadlocks were cut when he was four years old, the spiritual significance of his early years remained a testament to his unique destiny.

Prophet Israel Joshua Chukwubueze was formerly known as Christopher Ekene Okade. After a spiritual battle in which he lost his wife and his world almost turned upside down, his faith in God and a promising destiny kept him anchored. During this challenging season, Prophet Israel Joshua Chukwubueze engaged in intense, countless fasting and prayers. It was during this time that God revealed to him to change his name from Christopher Ekene Okade to Israel Joshua Chukwubueze, signifying a new chapter and divine alignment with his purpose. His late wife blessed him with two beautiful daughters, who remain a testament to God’s grace and love in his life.

The Birth of “Ask God How”

The ministry of “Ask God How” was birthed during a pivotal moment in Prophet Israel Joshua Chukwubueze’s life. Between February 13th and 15th, 2025, while engaged in a 3-day water fast, he sought divine direction for the next phase of his life. It was during this time of intense prayer and fasting that God revealed the vision for “Ask God How”—a global online ministry dedicated to teaching practical faith, fostering spiritual growth, and empowering believers to walk in dominion and miracles.

This ministry was not just a vision but a divine assignment to reach the world through the power of the internet, leveraging books, social media, web and mobile apps, and virtual meetings to spread the Gospel and make disciples of all nations.
